1.1 Add a Standard Reference​
Add a Standard Reference - Step-by-Step
Step 1: Reach the Standard Reference Screen
- From the main Side menu, click on "Design and development," then go to "Masters," and finally choose "Part" in the part search screen and click the “Add Standard”. This will open the Standard Reference page.
Step 2: Fill in details
- Standard Number: [Text Field] (Mandatory)Enter the standard number.
- Select Specification Type: [Dropdown] (Mandatory) Select the type of specification of the standard.
- Standard Description: [Text Field](Mandatory) Enter the description of the standard.
- Revision Number: [Text Field](Mandatory) Enter the revision of the standard.
- Click the “Browse” button, to upload a file of the standard added.It is mandatory
- Chosen File Name: (Mandatory)The name of the chosen file is displayed.
- latest Part: [Dropdown](Mandatory) Choose whether the Part is latest or not.
Step 3: Submit/Clear
- To Start Over: Click the "Clear" button if you wish to erase all information and begin a new. Please note that once this button is clicked, the entered information will not be saved.
- Click the “Submit Standard” Button
- Click the "Download Standard" - to daownload a list added in standard reference.
Submission Of Standard
- Upon submission of a Standard, the entry will be added and the screen will transition to the editing mode and the entered standard data will be added in the list below.
- For editing the subtabs, you’ll find the view/edit button in the list of the data displayed.
- Click the view/edit button in the subtab and the data is viewed in edit mode.
- You can make edits to your entry and then proceed to submit it.
Standard Reference Revision Management
When an existing Standard Reference is cloned and a new revision is created, the system automatically manages the revision history and linked Parts.
- A confirmation message is displayed if the Standard Reference is already linked to one or more Parts.
- After the new revision is submitted, the previously linked revision is automatically marked as Obsolete.
- The newly created active revision is automatically linked to the associated Part.
- The active revision is added to the Part as a new line item.
- This ensures that Parts are always linked to the latest active Standard Reference.
Automatic Part Update
You do not need to manually update the Standard Reference in the linked Part.
When a new revision becomes active, the system automatically:
- Marks the previous revision as Obsolete.
- Links the latest active revision to the Part.
- Preserves the revision history for traceability.
